NX client is another way to graphically connect to the Linux servers. Cadence, Matlab and Altera Quartus either did not work or were exceptionally slow. Using XMing and Putty to provide access to graphical software on Linux servers has had issues. When you run the program just ssh from within one of it's windows: Off-campus then NX Client is vastly superior.
